Yesterday we reported that this year’s The Apprentice was to feature a solicitor, whose identity had yet to be revealed.

Overnight, the names of the show’s contestants have been released — and it turns out that there is not just one solicitor on the show, but two.

The first, Felipe Alviar-Baquero (pictured above), is a City lawyer who spent four years at magic circle giant Slaughter and May before going on to work at the London office of top US firm Latham & Watkins.

According to LinkedIn, 33 year-old Alviar-Baquero — who got a first in his law degree at Kent University before going on to get a distinction in the Bachelor of Civil Law (BCL) at Oxford — is currently working for energy insurance consultants Indecs, having left Latham in May after nearly four years at the firm.

The second is Lauren Riley, a 28 year-old family solicitor at Labrums Solicitors in St Albans. Lancaster University graduate Riley appears to be the “glamorous solicitor” who took a pop at her fellow lawyers in a quote released on Twitter yesterday.

In the promotional literature for the show, Riley is quoted as saying:

“I’m absolutely not a shrinking violet. I’m very known for speaking my own mind.”

Meanwhile, Alviar-Baquero is being billed with this strapline:

“I studied law because I wanted to change the world. But my real passion is business.”

What will Sir Alan Sugar make of this pair? The show starts next Tuesday.
