Days after bagging yet another honorary doctorate, BBC Law in Action presenter is in the news again

Auntie’s legal man gets everywhere.

One moment Joshua Rozenberg — the presenter of BBC Radio 4’s Law in Action — is accepting his fourth honorary doctorate; the next, he’s photo-bombing the Andrew Mitchell “Plebgate” libel trial.

The former Tory chief whip and his wife walked away from London’s Royal Courts of Justice wearing gritted-teeth smiles after he finished second in his defamation case against The Sun newspaper.

But not far behind, was a rather jolly looking Rozenberg, presumably contemplating which law school was going to bestow yet another honour on him.

One of the first to tweet this historic legal profession photo-bombing was Simon Mayo QC of 187 Fleet Street Chambers, which is conveniently situated across the road from the RCJ.

The build-up to Mr Justice Mitting’s judgment involved considerable Twitter speculation from legal profession social media gurus. Indeed, guru-in-chief, David Allen Green, advised the Twitterati up until the last minute that the decision could go either way.

In the end, Rozenberg’s colleague, BBC legal correspondent Clive Coleman (honorary degrees — unknown) described the ruling as “devastating” for Mitchell’s reputation.
